The Bamboo Settee is a rather large bench featuring a long single bending with bamboo spindles and bamboo legs. It was originally made in the late 18th Century to the early 19th Century when Windsor chairs became simpler to coincide with the Federal Period furniture of the day. Within 25 years the Golden Age of furniture making was over and the need to produce more compromised the original joinery that made Windsor chairs such a marvel of strength, beauty, and longevity.
