E.B. Tracy Windsor Chair In 1977, Douglas R. Dimes was commissioned by Independence Hall in Philadelphia to reproduce this Comb-Back Arm Chair. We call it the Gilpin after the original maker, Thomas Gilpin, one of the earliest known Windsor chair makers. At the time, the chair was displayed in the Supreme Court. A few years later Mr. Dimes made several Philadelphia Lowback Benches for the public areas in Independence Hall.
