Carved Pipe Box
New!
We originally made this piece over twenty years ago and have used it in our office ever since. We had a friend visit the shop and just had to have one. We made a few sort of more for fun than for profit. While making furniture is how we all make our living being romantic from time to time reminds us how much we love doing it.
Pipe boxes were common in taverns storing clay pipes for use by the guests. This piece is highly developed for the form with two carvings and an ogee bracket base, lovely shaped sides and two compartments. It is one of those objects that can really add something to the flavor of a well decorated room.
